A "design proof" is a preliminary version of a design, presented digitally, that allows customers to review and provide feedback as a last and crucial step before it goes into final production, essentially acting as a preview of how the finished product will look, enabling any necessary adjustments to be made before finalizing the design. Design proofs are not 3D mockups, but the flat dielines/product template that will be fed into production – similar to a mockup. A proof typically details safe areas (the buffer zone where all important text and images should be placed to ensure they won't be accidentally cut off during the trimming process), trim lines (where your design will be cut), and bleed lines (the area of a design that extends beyond the trim line, ensuring a clean edge on the final product by accommodating slight paper movement during trimming and preventing white borders).
If you opt YES for the free 'Expert Print Check & Proof' at checkout, once you place your order, our Pre-Press Design Team will review your design to ensure it meets production requirements and is ready for printing. A final design proof will then be sent to you for approval before it goes into production. We’re highly rated for our print checks and we can catch issues you may otherwise overlook or be unaware of due to production methods. Reviews typically take 24-48 hrs. Excludes stock products.
If you opt NO for the free 'Expert Print Check & Proof' service at checkout, our Pre-Press Design Team may make minor alterations to your design at their discretion should it fail to meet production requirements.
Before approving your proofs, please carefully review all text and graphics for any errors (i.e. spelling, colors, layout, size, etc.) Please note, per our underage/overage policy we have a +/- 10% tolerance on color, size, quantity and weight. Colors seen on screen are more vibrant (RGB) than the actual print color (CMYK/Pantone). Color vibrancy can also be further affected by material choice, such as thin semi-translucent paper stock (Tissue) or darker paper stocks (Kraft Paper, Cardboard), as well as print finish (Coated/Uncoated/Matte/Gloss). This means that the colors used for a product that uses Pantone colors (i.e. noissue Tissue) may vary slightly from the colors used for a product that uses CMYK (i.e. noissue Stickers) for the same design. If you’re having trouble with color matching, consistency, or if you have any questions about your design proof, just get in touch and we’ll be happy to help.
By approving your design proof(s), you acknowledge that you have read and understood the proof disclaimer and are responsible for any errors found after approval. Kindly note, we are unable to make any changes or cancel the order once you approve it for production. Estimated lead times begin from proof approval.
